Dr. Susan Kerr
Senior Adviser on Freedom of religion or belief @OSCE's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights
Dr Susan Kerr is the Senior Adviser on Freedom of Religion or Belief at the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) in Warsaw. She has over fifteen years of European public affairs experience, including from within the European Parliament and the nonprofit sector, where she specialised in the human right of freedom of religion or belief. Susan holds a PhD in philosophy (peace studies) from the University of Bradford, a master’s degree in business administration from Durham University, a master’s degree in international politics from the Free University of Brussels, and a master’s degree in modern European languages and European Union studies from the University of Edinburgh.
Samirah Majumdar
Research Associate @Pew Research Center
Samirah Majumdar is a research associate at Pew Research Center, where she focuses on global restrictions on religion. Samirah holds a master’s degree from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree from Barnard College. She is a contributing author to Pew Research Center reports including “A Closer Look at How Religious Restrictions Have Risen Around the World,” “Global Uptick in Government Restrictions on Religion in 2016,” and “Global Restrictions on Religion Rise Modestly in 2015, Reversing Downward Trend.” Full bio: https://www.pewresearch.org/staff/samirah-majumdar/
Dr. Ahmed Shaheed
U.N. Special Rapporteur on Freedom or religion or belief @Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights
On 1 November 2016, Mr. Ahmed Shaheed assumed his mandate as Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief. He is Deputy Director of the Essex Human Rights Centre. He was the first Special Rapporteur of the Human Rights Council on the situation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran since the termination of the previous Commission on Human Rights mandate in 2002. A career diplomat, he has twice held the office of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives. He led Maldives' efforts to embrace international human rights standards between 2003 and 2011.
