9:00 AM MDT; Guild Records in Sweden – The guilds in Sweden were one of the pillars of society from medieval times up to 1846. They controlled the production of important products and managed the workforce that created them. Because they were not bourn to the land, the people who worked in guild trades were more mobile. This makes them harder to follow in the records. Come learn about guild records and how to use them for Swedish genealogy.

10:15 AM MDT; Exploring Norwegian Sailor and Seaman Records – This class will teach what kinds of information is available in the sailor records (marine) and seaman records (people signing up to go to sea) in Norway.

12:00 PM MDT; The "Gods" of Land and Power: Danish Estates and Their Records – Estates dominated the lives of your Danish ancestors and they also created excellent genealogical records. As you come to a better understanding of the 800 estates in Denmark, you will inevitably come to a better understanding and appreciation of your live and you will have an easier time finding the records needed to extend your Danish ancestry. This class will explain what estates were and their history, how they were organized, what records they created, and how to use and find them.

1:15 PM MDT; Understanding Swedish Probate Records – Swedish probates, also ,known as estate records, are extremely valuable documents to help confirm family relationships and get further insight into the lives of our ancestors. This class will review the important laws and customs regarding probate records. It will then walk viewers through how to determine when estate records will be useful, how to find an estate record, and how to interpret the information provided in the record.
